Division Calculator
Division is one of the four basic mathematical operations—alongside addition, subtraction, and multiplication. It is used to split a number into equal parts or groups.
It answers: “How many in each group?” or “How many groups?”
The symbol of division is ÷ or /.

The number being divided. Example: In 12 ÷ 3, 12 is the dividend.
The number you divide by. Example: In 12 ÷ 3, 3 is the divisor.
The result of division. 12 ÷ 3 = 4.

Important Rules
- ✔ n ÷ 1 = n
- ✔ n ÷ n = 1 (where n ≠ 0)
- ✔ 0 ÷ n = 0 (where n ≠ 0)
- ✔ Division by 0 is undefined
- ✔ If 4 × 3 = 12, then 12 ÷ 4 = 3
